Learn to surf, forge lifelong connections, and immerse yourself in the tropical beach lifestyle at Shaka Surf Camp.
While not a typical resort, we offer many of the comforts associated with one, coupled with the laid-back vibe of a surf camp tailored for 'grown-ups' (minimum age of 15).

Frank, co-owner since Shaka's inception in 2008, hails from Florida, starting his surfing journey at 12. To him, surfing is more than a sport; it's a lifestyle. Frank is passionate about helping families with children in wheelchairs, evident in the OHG adaptive surf camps held yearly at Shaka. He resides in Aspen, Colorado, with his family, describing Shaka as his "dream come true."

Mike, co-owner since 2013, originally from Montreal, Canada, lived in Costa Rica for years, shaping his love for surfing. A seasoned stonemason turned globetrotter, Mike is a fount of knowledge about everything to make your stay awesome. Both Frank and Mike are dedicated to sharing the warm water, great waves, fresh local produce, breathtaking sunsets, and the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure with you!

Shaka is nestled on the west coast of the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, surrounded by small towns and an array of surf breaks.
