Welcome to Sumatra Surf Resort, known as one of the most chilled and friendly surf resorts in South Sumatra, located 30 kilometers from Krui at Tanjung Setia. The resort is situated facing the longest and best left-handed reef break in the region, UJUNG BOCOR, on the point of Tanjung Setia in South Sumatra.

Ujung Bocur offers a wide range of waves, from heavy dredging barrels to long, carveable down-the-line performance walls with rides that can exceed 200 meters. The resort is nestled amidst towering coconut palms, providing natural shade and a cool environment throughout the year.

Guests can enjoy FREE coconut juice whenever they desire. As you stroll through the shade-covered grounds toward the beach, you'll find the swimming pool, beach deck, and bar, perfect for witnessing breathtaking sunsets or simply taking in the view of the waves. Sumatra Surf Resort offers 14 individual bungalows that can be configured to accommodate couples with a queen-size bed or king singles for twin sharing. Each bungalow features a veranda with outdoor seating for observing the ocean or simply basking in the tranquility. The resort can accommodate up to 28 guests at any given time, including solo travelers, families, large or small groups, surfers of all ages and skill levels, non-surfers interested in exploring the beautiful area, as well as businesses and organizations. Guests can enjoy private bathrooms with facilities set within river stones, Western flush toilets, and hot water showers for added comfort and convenience.

Good healthy food and plenty of it is essential to keep you fuelled up for a day on the waves.
They provide 3 meals a day and no sparrow sized servings here. The menu is full of variety and is a mixture of classic Indonesian and Western dishes. They can cater for all tastes and dietary requirements.
They always have cereal and toast out from 6.00 am for early risers who want to get some waves in before breakfast.
Breakfast is a variety of fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes, toast, cereal and fresh fruits.
Lunch and dinners are generally buffet style fish, beef chicken dishes with rice and veggies.
For variety they have some western lunch and dinners such as burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches or pizzas.

The main surf season runs from April-November the Roaring Forties send plenty of 6-12ft (2-4m) swells through April-November ( High Season ). The SSW direction is ideal for their SW facing area. Cross-shore winds are the rule as Lampung means “place of the southerly winds”. The SE trade wind season starts in May with mild winds getting stronger towards the end of the season in October.

Sumatra Surf Resort faces Ujung Bocor, the area’s longest and best left handed reef break. It ranges in scope from heavy dredging barrels to long carveable down the line performance walls with rides in excess of 200 meters. Ujung Bocur is extremely consistent and handles large swells well. In addition, the sheer length of the wave spreads out almost any crowd.

The large majority of the staff are local and have been with they since day 1. In an area where employment is hard to find they have created jobs for 10 people. Their crew is their family. They are friendly and caring people. Their motto is “We are here for you” and we mean that.

They are blessed to have such a beautiful environment to live and work in and they try to keep it that way by correct waste disposal and recycling. They donate generously to the local community school and to significant cultural and religious occasions.
