Located in a small village called Lido, in Vanimo, the capital of the province of Sandaun, on the north coast of Papua New Guinea. Vanimo is located on a peninsula near the border with Indonesia. Surfers are beginning gradually to know the potential of this surfing destination, so close to Indonesia and Australia, renowned destinations in the surfing world.

Vanimo Surf Lodge is located right on the beach and has a number of surf spots nearby. It is an idyllic spot for those looking to surf without hundreds of surfers around instead. Surf Association of Papua New Guinea has introduced a world premiere to maintain and limit the crowds for the benefit of all, it is that the number of surfers are limited in Vanimo to 20, spread over 8 breaks. That means you will not find more than 3 or 4 each day. It is often said that in Papua surfing as it was found; there are numerous local surfers and children practice it on an equal footing. With Surf Area Management Plan Vanimo (VSAMP) Government is invested part of the benefits of surfing in the local community, helping them to be very friendly with foreign surfers. Vanimo Surf Lodge has 3 cabins for 12 people. The natural setting is truly spectacular with a great jungle, coconut trees and a few huts spread over the horizon. They can provide you excursions around the area to swim in waterfalls, diving or fishing. The lodge is open from November to April.
