Thailand/ Phang Nga/ Khao Lak
Located in Khao Lak, a tourist town in the province of Phang Nga and in the area of the Andaman Sea. Although it has a good number of resorts, restaurants and leisure establishments, it is much quieter than Phuket. Its main attractions are the nearby Similan Islands, 1.5 hours by boat, Khao Sok's park and Phang Nga Bay. The beaches of the area are usually quite long, with white sand and turquoise waters. The area was very affected by the 2004 tsunamai and the Spanish film of "The impossible" was shot here. Today it has been practically rebuilt and just a few monuments remember the tragedy. In Pakarang Surf Shop they offer surfing classes and surf tables. The best season to practice Surf is from April to November although it is possible to find waves throughout the year at Cape Pakarang. The beaches of Khao Lak are perfect for all surf levels because it has some of the longest and most consistent waves of Thailand. They can be found from Beach Breaks of sand to coral reef ruptures. The best surf places are Playa Nang Thong, the mouth of the Bang Niang River, Pakarang Playa and Cabo Pakarang. Its surf classes include the surf table and an instructor for 1 hour. If you want to stay here they have a wooden bungalow in front of the beach. It is a simple but very cozy accommodation, directly on the sand.
